Legacy-GoHealth welcomes Dr. Anthony Ferroggiaro as new medical director
GoHealth welcomes Dr. Anthony Ferroggiaro as the new medical director of Legacy-GoHealth Urgent Care.
As medical director, Dr. Ferroggiaro will play a key role in defining and developing clinical programs at Legacy-GoHealth’s 15 urgent care centers across the Portland (Ore.) metropolitan area, working with providers to ensure the highest level of care and patient satisfaction.
Dr. Ferroggiaro's has over two decades of experience in emergency medicine, including roles as vice chair and medical director at OHSU Adventist’s emergency department and system director for community emergency medicine at Oregon Health Sciences University. Dr. Ferroggiaro has demonstrated exceptional leadership and clinical expertise. He has been instrumental in organizing and re-staffing emergency departments to align with operational vision and metrics, implementing quality improvement initiatives, and leading departments through crises including leadership transitions and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Ferroggiaro earned a bachelor’s degree from Santa Clara University. He received his medical degree from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine and completed a residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He was awarded a research fellowship at the University of Colorado Health Science Center and received his Master of Health Administration from the University of Washington School of Public Health.
In addition to his role as assistant professor of emergency medicine at OHSU and other academic positions throughout his career, Dr. Ferroggiaro has consistently demonstrated a commitment to advancing the field of emergency medicine and improving patient outcomes as a published author in leading medical journals; of a book for fellow clinicians, “Assessment of Practice Performance in Emergency Medicine: A Physician’s Guide to Quality Improvement"; and of numerous faculty lectures.
